“If you can dream it, you can do it” ~ Walt Disney
There are currently many different styles of Kinesiology! The Kinesiology styles I work with (ICPKP, Kinergetics, NK, NOT) are fundamentally about working with flows of energy – such as nadi’s, meridians, chakras, auric/light bodies - within & without the physical body.
Given how busy and stressful our lives are, it is under-standable that these energy flows (sometimes called chi or prana) can become unbalanced.
By getting feedback from the body using specific muscles (often called muscle 'testing' which is completely painless!), energy flows can be evaluated to reflect what the body's overall state of balance is across physical, biochemical, emotional, mental, energetic & spiritual levels. Any stresses identified can then be minimised or resolved using powerful Kinesiology energy balancing techniques.
The body is in this way seen to be multidimensional and this is why
Kinesiology is more holistic in its approach.
Furthermore, as stated by Dr Dewe, "a fundamental premise of kinesiology is that the body has innate healing energy and is always doing its best to care for itself, but sometimes needs to be helped into a better position to achieve this care." Kinesiology is therefore about looking beyond symptoms and addressing the causes or triggers of imbalances, but without diagnosing, treating or prescribing. It is very much about maintaining wellbeing rather than only 'fixing' something when it breaks.
I've assisted many clients (including children) in using Kinesiology techniques for stress, pain relief, gut and immune mismatch responses, fatigue and tiredness, learning disabilities, nervousness and anxieties, sports injuries, personal development and maintaining optimal wellbeing.
So if you're seeking more balance in any aspect of your life, wanting to transform stress into resourceful energy, needing to remove physical or emotional barriers, feeling stuck with achieving goals or having fulfilling relationships, I can help YOU to holistically uncover where your imbalances are and then how to achieve and maintain your optimal wellbeing.
PS in case you're still wondering, while Kinesiology is considered to be a 'hands-on' modality, you do get to stay fully clothed during a session!
During my humbling Kinesiology learning journey, I have had so many amazing teachers including Geoff Rolls, Kali Spooner, Arthur Bablis, Sarah Gilmour-Mayne, Jenny McFadden and Bernard Carson. I've also had the honour of personally training with the founders of ICPKP, Dr Bruce Dewe and Joan Dewe, Rachelle Sewell, Mel Simmonds, as well as Toni Lilley, whom I regard as the Touch for Health 'legend'!
I'm a qualified Touch for Health Instructor and ICPKP Kinesiologist. I am also an accredited member of the Australian Traditional Medicine Society (ATMS), the Australian Institute for Kinesiology (AIK), the International Institute for Complementary Therapists (IICT) and I abide by their codes and ethics.
